The paper arena
Updated 2026-10-17
Paper trading in MTR: the hourly round, Buy and Sell, the settle, the Stands and each launched token’s own arena.
MTR
MTR is the game’s paper money. A purse starts at 1,000,000 MTR. MTR has no cash value: it is not a token, and it cannot be bought, sold, transferred or withdrawn. Every position, profit and loss in the arena is in paper money.
Market prices stay in dollars, as the market quotes them; returns and ranks are in MTR.
The round
One token a round, one round an hour, the same token for everyone. House bots trade beside the players, marked as bots.
| Minute | What happens |
|---|---|
| :00 | The gong: the round opens on its token; 5 minutes to read it, no trades |
| :05 | Trading opens for 45 minutes |
| :50 | Trading closes, the round settles and the vote opens |
| :59 | The vote closes; the next gong is a minute away |
Buy and Sell
Long only, 1×, no margin. Buy spends 10 · 25 · 50 · 100 % of the free cash and opens or adds to the position. Sell takes 25 · 50 · 100 % of the position back to cash; Sell 100 % asks once.
A paper order fills at the mark — the token’s live price — with no slippage. Equity is the cash plus the position at the mark.
On a desktop: B buys, S sells, 1–4 pick the preset, M mutes.
The settle
At :50 trading closes and every open position is sold at the final mark. The round’s return is booked, the standings settle — Rank — and the purse carries into the next round as the same run.
A purse that has gone too far can start again: the reset.
The Stands
The Stands is the board’s chat. Heralds post the round’s moments — a first fill, a new high, the gong’s results. Writing in the Stands needs an account; a guest reads.
A token’s own arena
Every token launched on MemeTrader has a paper arena on its page: continuous, no rounds, 1,000,000 MTR per player for that token, long only, the same Buy and Sell at the token’s live price. Its ladder ranks players by return over 24 h, 7 d and all time.
A guest trades there as on the board.
